A Transformative Week of Worship and Spiritual Renewal in Port Moresby: (June 19th - 24th, 2023)!

People Surrendering to the Word of God!

The congregations of Christian Apostolic Fellowship Church and other participants experienced a much-needed respite from the every-day hearing of bad stuffs tarnishing the good image of Port Moresby as a Week-long fellowship gathering at Mt. Moriah CAF Church unfolded. The event, filled with uplifting worship and praise, offered a glimpse of heaven amidst the chaos that often engulfs the airwaves, mainstream media, and social media platforms. As whispers of strange happenings and conspiracy theories filling up streets and homes everywhere, this gathering provided solace and reassurance to countless Christians, reminding them that "GOD IS WITH US."

Nestled amidst the picturesque valleys and hills of Hohola and Baruni, the weather graced the gathering with its splendor. Cool breezes gently kissed the attendees' skin, as if orchestrated by the heaven itself. However, it was the awe-inspiring word of God that truly touched their hearts and souls. The theme of the gathering, "GOD IS WITH US," carried profound significance, particularly in a world plagued by uncertainty and turmoil.

Against the backdrop of rising sin and confusion, the attendees found solace in the promise proclaimed in Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This message resonated deeply, providing robust assurance that the Lord stands with them.

Those who got ordained for Deacons & Deaconess

The highlight of the event came as eight individuals, two young men and six women (two being the wives of the two males), were ordained as Church Deacons and Deaconesses. With unwavering commitment, they pledged to serve God wholeheartedly, embracing their responsibilities within the church. This momentous occasion symbolized their dedication to fulfilling God's will in their lives.

The gathering culminated on the 24th with a profound act of faith as another group of eight souls, inspired by their newfound spiritual calling, entered the waters of baptism. By embracing this sacred rite, they declared their intention to follow Christ for the rest of their lives. In a world increasingly consumed by worldly pleasures, such as sports entertainment and gambling, as well as the detrimental effects of alcohol and drugs on young minds, these individuals boldly detached themselves from these temptations and embraced a life centered on Christ.

Each of the eight individuals shared a common message, urging those who are wasting away their lives to seek salvation in Jesus Christ. They passionately conveyed the transformative power of accepting Christ and surrendering one's life to Him, emphasizing that He had willingly endured a cruel death on the cross for the redemption of all.

In a city often overshadowed by negative narratives, this Week-long fellowship gathering emerged as a beacon of hope and spiritual rejuvenation. Port Moresby witnessed a profound display of faith, unity, and unwavering commitment, reminding its residents that amidst the chaos and distractions of the world, the presence of God endures, providing strength and guidance to those who seek Him.

Unwavering Faith and Relentless Pursuit: Martin's Extraordinary Journey to Success

In the remote village of Kaup, nestled in the Warakamb Valley on the border of Southern Highlands and Enga Provinces, a story of extraordinary faith and relentless pursuit unfolds. It is a tale of a young man named Martin, born into a family that dedicated their lives to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the face of immense challenges and adversity, Martin's family stood unwavering, embodying the power of faith and determination. This article explores their remarkable journey, highlighting the indomitable spirit that guided them through the darkest of times.

Martin standing with his parents on his graduation (19/04/2023)
Martin's father, Maino Kalapanda, was a man of deep conviction and unwavering commitment. Serving as a missionary in the rural areas of Kandep, he faced numerous obstacles in his pursuit of spreading the message of Jesus Christ. The meager tithes collected on Sundays and the support of fellow Christians were often insufficient to meet the basic needs of his family. They endured times of hardship and uncertainty, with Maino sometimes contemplating abandoning his missionary work and returning to their village. Yet, his faith in Jesus Christ propelled him forward, refusing to succumb to despair.

One of the greatest challenges Maino faced was providing education for his children, including Martin. Education was a costly endeavor for the family, especially when they were already struggling to make ends meet. However, Maino's faith remained resolute, undeterred by any obstacle that stood in his way. He turned to prayer as a source of solace and strength, entrusting their worries, hopes, and dreams to God. The family's unyielding dedication to prayer became the bedrock of their resilience, providing them with the endurance to press on, even in the face of the most challenging times.

Martin, driven by an insatiable desire for education, embarked on his educational journey with an unwavering determination. Despite being born into a family with limited resources, he progressed from Winja Community School to Kandep Primary and eventually to Kandep High School. Throughout his schooling, Martin remained steadfast in his faith, exemplifying humility and kindness. He passionately preached the word of God to his peers and classmates, urging them to accept Jesus Christ. His unwavering faith and dedication were an inspiration to those around him.

However, in 2012, during Martin's 10th grade at Kandep High School, his path took a drastic turn. The national election that year brought devastation to his community, shattering the peace that had always eluded Kandep during such events. The clashes between political rivals resulted in loss of life, destruction of property, school closures, and widespread hunger. Martin's education was significantly disrupted, as he was unable to sit for his high school exams due to the ongoing violence. Chaos reigned, leaving Kandep deserted, its once-bustling roads eerily empty.

Undeterred by the challenges, Martin resolved to continue his education despite the adverse circumstances. In a heartfelt prayer with his parents, he expressed his intention to leave Kandep in search of educational opportunities elsewhere. Although his parents were concerned about the desolate roads and lack of transportation, Martin was resolute in his decision. Seeking their blessing through prayer, he embarked on an arduous journey with a fellow schoolmate and a youth friend from the church.

The day Martin smiled after all the struggles!
Their journey was nothing short of a test of faith and perseverance. They braved treacherous terrains, crossed fast-flowing rivers, and ventured through haunted villages on desolate roads. With each step, their hearts filled with ceaseless prayers, relying on Jesus alone. Finally, after an exhausting trek, they arrived in Wabag District, the capital town of Enga Province, the following day at 6 pm.

Arriving in Wabag, they found themselves in an unfamiliar territory, with no known relatives to seek refuge with. Their only hope was to find comfort in one of the Christian Apostolic Fellowship (CAF) churches around town in Wabag. Guided by locals, they made their way to a town church, hopeful for a safe haven. However, their hopes were shattered when the pastor turned them away, advising them to seek shelter elsewhere. This was a heartbreaking blow to the two young boys who had risked their lives in pursuit of education.

Despite the initial setback, Martin and his friend received help from kind-hearted individuals who offered them shelter. Martin stayed in Wabag for a few months, never losing sight of his ultimate goal. By the grace of God, he secured a space at Kopen Secondary School, where he sat for his grade 10 National Exams. His dedication and hard work paid off when he achieved commendable results and was selected to continue his grade 11 and 12.

Martin's educational journey continued at St. Paul's Lutheran Secondary School in Pausa, where he not only focused on his studies but also demonstrated remarkable leadership abilities. He led youths to Christ and inspired others through his unwavering faith, both within the school campus and his local CAF church in Pausa. His influence extended beyond the boundaries of the classroom, as he brought the wonders of God into the lives of his peers and congregation.

However, Martin faced a devastating blow in 2014 when he received no offers from the universities and colleges he had applied to in PNG. This rejection was not only a personal setback but also deeply disappointed his family, who had witnessed his exceptional leadership and potential. Despite the hurtful comments from those who took advantage of his failure, Martin refused to succumb to despair. With school fees to repeat Grade 12 adding to his burdens, he sought comfort and strength from his unwavering faith in God.

Renewed with determination and hope, Martin secured a place at Wabag Secondary School to repeat his final year of high school. While his former classmates progressed to universities and colleges, Martin held firmly onto his belief that God had a unique plan for his life. In 2016, his perseverance paid off when he received an acceptance letter from the premier University of Papua New Guinea, marking the beginning of a brighter chapter in his life.

Martin embarked on his studies, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication for Development. Over the next two years, he displayed exemplary dedication, successfully completing the first two years of his four-year degree program. While studying at the University of Papua New Guinea, he never lost sight of his aspiration to become a business and management professional, even when the path seemed uncertain.

In 2018, Martin's perseverance and unwavering faith led him to a turning point. He received a letter of acceptance to study Business Foundation year at the School of Business and Public Policy, University of Papua New Guinea. Making the brave decision to start afresh in his dream career, he followed his heart and enrolled in the school, despite the challenges that lay ahead. This choice required great courage and resilience, but Martin remained unwavering in his conviction that this was the right path for him.

Throughout his time at the university, Martin's faith in God remained a constant source of strength and guidance. He continued to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, taking on important roles within the Christian Apostolic Fellowship and various student unions. Despite the hurdles he faced, Martin never lost sight of his goals, emerging as a shining example of perseverance and determination.

Finally, on the 19th of April, 2023, Martin's unwavering dedication culminated in the attainment of his Bachelor of Business and Management degree, specializing in Strategic Management. The joy and pride radiating from his friends and relatives were surpassed only by the tears of happiness streaming down the faces of Martin's humble parents. This was the day they had longed for, fervently prayed for, and witnessed their son's triumphant success after years of hardships. Martin's father, moved to tears, expressed gratitude to God for His unwavering support and encouraged Martin to never stray from his faith.

The celebration extended beyond Martin's immediate family as the Christian Apostolic Fellowship NCD and Southern Region youth joined in the jubilation. They applauded Martin's remarkable journey, inspired by his unwavering faith and determination, and wished him nothing but the best in all his future endeavors. His story serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us all that with unwavering faith, perseverance, and the support of a loving community, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve our dreams. Martin's journey is a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and the unwavering pursuit of education against all odds.

NCD and Southern Region, 29th September, 2022 - The Christian Apostolic Fellowship (CAF) Church in NCD and Southern Region reached a significant milestone today as it inaugurated its newly established Administration Team. After more than six decades of operating on an ad-hoc basis, the church has taken a decisive step towards a more structured and efficient future. Led by the new Admin Chairman, El. Robin KUMBIN, the team aims to handle the administrative aspects of the church, allowing pastors to focus on their spiritual responsibilities.

The Prayer Release for the New Church Admin Team.

Boasting a network of over 500 churches nationwide, the CAF Church has experienced remarkable growth. However, the absence of a well-structured administration has hindered its progress. Recognizing the need for change, the CAF Church Pastors' Forum in NCD and Southern Region celebrated a momentous occasion as they officially inaugurated the new Administration Team. The ceremony, presided over by Senior Pastor Ps. Tony DALAKA of the Cornerstone AOG Church, drew hundreds of CAF Church Christians from the NCD and Southern Region, underscoring the event's significance.

The establishment of the Administration Team marks a strategic move to alleviate pastors from their administrative burdens and establish a strong foundation for the church's growth. This newly formed team will take charge of managing the church's finances, establishing office infrastructure, and conducting necessary groundwork. By doing so, the CAF Church aims to generate revenue and fund organized activities within the Southern Region, expanding its reach and impact.

One of prior moments leading to setting up the new Church Admin

The decision to create the Administration Team was driven by the desire to allow pastors to dedicate their time and energy to spiritual matters. By delegating administrative responsibilities, the church envisions a well-managed movement that will advance the Kingdom of God on earth.

One of the initial responsibilities entrusted to the Administration Team is the collection and management of the Thanks-Giving Offering. This financial resource will be used to establish the team's office and support their initial initiatives. While some members of the CAF Church in Papua New Guinea may have reservations about this new initiative, a supportive few remain optimistic about the potential positive outcomes. Ultimately, the church places its trust in God's guidance, hoping for His blessings to flow through the new leadership team, bringing glory and honor to His name.

As the CAF Church embarks on this new chapter, all eyes are on the Administration Team as they undertake their mission to streamline operations and facilitate growth. The church and its members eagerly anticipate the unfolding of God's plan for their community. With unwavering faith and determination, they look forward to a future characterized by spiritual growth, organizational efficiency, and impactful endeavors for the Kingdom of God.

An Unforgettable Trip to Kerema

"It was the Unveiling of Splendors: A Journey of Faith, Unity, and Nature's Delight"

As the sun rose on the crisp morning of August 28, 2021, we embarked on a journey to the enchanting realm of Kerema. Settled amidst the breathtaking frontiers of Papua New Guinea, this land is adorned with colossal rivers that flow with an untamed ferocity, originating from the magnificent highlands and merging with the vast expanse of the sea. With hearts brimming with anticipation, we arrived in Kerema under the starlit sky, around the tranquil hour of 8pm.

A stop-over in Malaloua on our way to Kerema.
Awaiting our arrival with eager anticipation was Pastor Timothy, a steadfast shepherd of the Kerema CAF Church, with his full congregation. His warm smile and welcoming presence reassured us that our expedition would be filled with spiritual nourishment and unforgettable memories. The evening commenced with a heartfelt worship service, where harmonious melodies echoed through the sacred walls, reaching the depths of our souls. It was a Friday evening bathed in the ethereal glow of devotion.

The dawn of the following day beckoned us to embark on a powerful outreach mission, spreading the transformative message of Jesus Christ throughout Kerema. The air buzzed with an electric energy as we ventured into the heart of the town, sharing love, hope, and compassion with every encounter. The people of Kerema embraced us with open arms, their curiosity ignited by the fervor of our purpose. The rays of the afternoon sun painted the sky in vibrant hues of orange, casting a warm glow upon the landscape. As the sun gracefully descended into the embrace of the sea, the crashing waves mirrored its radiant farewell, transforming the beach into a spectacle of pure beauty.

Unable to resist the allure of the pristine coastline, we frolicked in the sands like children, reveling in the joyous freedom that nature offered. The rhythmic symphony of laughter filled the air, harmonizing with the soothing whispers of the ocean. It was a moment frozen in time, where the cares of the world dissipated, and the purity of bliss enveloped our beings.

Outreach in Kerema Town (29/08/023)
Sunday arrived, accompanied by a sense of bittersweet anticipation. The morning service unfolded with reverence and reverence, culminating in a poignant ceremony. Deacon Morgan, a devoted servant of the faith, was ordained as an Elder, a sacred title that would guide him on his noble mission to the distant land of Baimuru in the Gulf. Emotions ran deep, and tears mingled with heartfelt blessings as we bid him farewell, entrusting him to the divine path he was destined to walk. Among those present were esteemed senior pastors from the Christian Apostolic Fellowship, including Ps. Mathew Tapus, Ps. Emmanuel Lupain, Ps. Jimson SAUK, Ps. Nicholas Peng, Ps. David Moses, Ps. Thomas Bob Kiakari, Ps. Daniel Marsh, Ps. John WAI, El. Robin Kumbin and El. Jeff YANSON. In the embrace of unity, the torch of faith was passed from one generation to the next, sparking a fire that would illuminate distant shores.

Ordination of El. Morgan CAF Church Pastors
As the sun began its descent towards the western horizon on that balmy Sunday afternoon, we embarked on the journey back to Port Moresby, our hearts overflowing with the memories of our enchanting adventure. The ride back was filled with laughter, chatter, and reflections on the profound impact that Kerema had imprinted upon our souls. It was a journey that would forever hold a special place in our hearts, a tapestry woven with the threads of spiritual awakening, heartfelt connections, and the sheer beauty of Papua New Guinea's natural wonders.

The trip to Kerema was more than just a physical sojourn; it was a pilgrimage of the spirit. We returned to Port Moresby, basking in the warmth of memories and the transformative power of our collective experiences. The echoes of worship, the laughter on the beach, and the sacred ordination of a chosen servant lingered within us, reminders of the profound beauty that lies within the hearts of those who seek it.

We therefore, express our gratitude to God Almighty as He has ensured the journey was immensely successful. We also extend our thanks to our Youth Pastor, Ps. David Moses, and his family, as well as our Youth Parent, Elder Robin KUMBIN, for taking us on this incredible trip and safely bringing us back. May God bestow abundant blessings upon both of you as you persist in supporting and guiding the leaders of our magnificent nation, specifically from the Southern Region of Papua New Guinea through the CAF Church Youths Ministry.
